The Nook was first put on the web in 1996 and was among the earliest sites dedicated to exploring the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The purpose of the website is to provide information related to the assassination and a forum for discussion of the crime.

The Nook takes no position on the assassination but wishes to foster civil discussion on all perspectives on what occured in Dallas, Texas on 22 November 1963 and the aftermath.
